Carnival of the Animals
Music by Camille Saint-Saëns
Words by Nick Enright
Thrilling music performed live on two pianos!
If you could be an animal, which one would you be? Would you be a bird flying free in the sky, a proud prowling lion, or a cheeky little mouse? Come with us on a special musical journey to meet the people of Perth – and the animals that represent us.
Our unique version of Carnival of the Animals is set on one beautiful day in Perth as Saint-Saëns’ marvellous music bursts out of the theatre, transporting us from Fremantle to the Hills, the Swan River to the city. The words of beloved Australian playwright Nick Enright, a cast of hilarious puppets, time-lapse footage and two extraordinary pianists live on stage will bring this carnival to life.
The crowd is clappin’, the flags are flappin’, the carnival is about to happen!
Carnival of the Animals was originally presented by the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and Spare Parts Puppet Theatre in 2018
