Rules of Summer // World Premiere Season
A performance like no other, Rules of Summer is an immersive, interactive, and multi-sensory puppetry work following the journey of two boys who experience the emotional journey of life, the unwritten rules of friendship, and a list of mysterious rules…
See the entire theatre space come to life and experience a sensory world of sight, taste, smell, sound and touch. What rule will you break? Will you accept or reject a tasty treat? And what consequences will await?
Join us for the world premiere season of this new adaptation from the award-winning book by Shaun Tan at the Dolphin Theatre, UWA.
Suitable for ages 5+
Audience warning: this performance contains strobe lighting and smoke effects.
In Conversation – special guest announcement!
Ticket holders for the Wednesday 27 September 6:30pm performance of Rules of Summer will have the opportunity to join special guest Shaun Tan, Director Philip Mitchell, Assistant Director Rebecca Bradley and Designer Leon Hendroff for a post-show discussion about the creation of this new immersive, interactive, and multi-sensory puppetry work.
Are we just people that learn different things at different stages of our lives? How do we create works that are intergenerational? How do we create space for the imagination? This In Conversation event will provide unique insight into adapting a book to stage and the process of creating puppetry works.
We expect this to be a popular event. There are limited places, so secure your seat for the performance and exclusive post-show talk via the button below!
