Ladders

A surreal excursion into the world of newspaper.

In collaboration with New Zealand Puppet Theatre.

An unsuspecting audience member is drawn into a world created out of paper. At first he willingly goes to the assistance of the seemilgly helpless paper inhabitants of this world, only to find the escape route back to his own reality is blocked. He is drawn further and further into a universe formed by the images and stories from newspapers, tabloids and glossy magazines. He begins to participate in the stories of this universe only to discover that he is participating in his own story.
