SPPT Appoints a Giving Manager

SPPT is delighted to announce the appointment of Rachael Whitworth as our first Giving Manager. Rachael has worked for the Company over many years as a performer and administrator and is now relishing the opportunity to develop a successful philanthropic giving program.
Rachael’s position of Giving Manager is funded in partnership with ArtSupport, the philanthropic arm of the Australia Council. The role of Artsupport is to work closely with the cultural sector as well as philanthropic organisations and business to encourage private giving to the arts. With assistance from Artsupport, Rachael will develop new strategies to increase tax deductible donations to the company, providing much needed funds that will allow Spare Parts to continue to be Australia’s leading puppetry company.
After completing a Graduate Diploma in Arts and Entertainment Management at Deakin University, Rachael worked for Spare Parts as Operations Officer and as Associate Producer for UNIMA 2008:: International Puppetry Festival. Over the past 2 1/2 years, she took some time off to have 2 children and produced a number of corporate projects for Steamworks Arts Productions.
